Flood Risk Analyses for Synergistic Flood Resiliency Projects by Hydraulic Engineers from the San Francisco Public Works

Nicholas Birth, Bumayendra Shrestha, and Julio Maravilla from the San Francisco Public Works will give a presentation on the synergistic flood resiliency projects they had undertaken. They will also demonstrate how to use flood risk analyses to size a polder park, a below-sea-level open space designed to be isolated from the water level in the adjacent water bodies. The polder park is being discussed as a potential coastal resiliency measure to protect the Central Waterfront neighborhoods from the impacts of sea level rise and storm surges.
